The launch of Nextgen Directors represents the culmination of a journey marked by Jon Trigg's steadfast commitment and focused nature. Born in the UK and educated in Jersey, Jon's path to founding Nextgen Directors is characterized by a unique and notable trajectory.

After leaving Jersey in the late 1980s to pursue a career in professional sport, Jon spent 13 years immersed in the competitive world of football. Though he did not achieve the pinnacle he dreamed of, this experience imparted invaluable lessons in management and leadership.

In 2000, seeking stability and security for his wife Alison and children Charlotte and Hannah, Jon returned to Jersey and embarked on a new career path, starting a very different apprenticeship with JTC Group, a local, privately-owned trust company at the time.

"I am forever grateful for the opportunity Nigel Le Quesne gave me," Jon reflects. "Not everyone would have employed a 29-year-old who had never worked in the finance industry before. Looking back, I always felt that I needed to make up for lost time. My school friends were soon to be partners at law firms or directors of trust companies, while I was starting out as a trainee. I recognised I was fortunate to be offered a chance to start a new career, but to progress and close the gap, I knew I had to study hard and learn quickly from those around me."

Jon's curiosity and enthusiasm were welcomed by Jersey's growing offshore funds industry. His dedication to learning propelled him from trainee administrator to managing director of a fund administration and corporate services provider, all while qualifying as an accountant along the way. Following the sale of the business in 2018, he transitioned to an independent non-executive director role and co-founded a professional training and development firm in 2019.

Jon's proven belief from his own career that learning, and support are foundational to achieving success in any endeavour, inspired the launch of Nextgen Directors.

"Nextgen Directors is the realization of a dream to provide current, future, and aspiring leaders, regardless of industry, with the tools they need to succeed," Jon explains. "I have been fortunate to work with brilliant individuals throughout my career, both in professional sport and here in Jersey. I have always wanted to create a platform to support the development of businesses and the next generation of leaders fulfil their potential, pursue their passions, and achieve their dreams. The success of this business will be measured by the positive impact it has on others."
